So two-spirit is a gender option on facebook now
So this is a good time to remind people not to use that term to describe your gender if you’re not part of a culture that uses that term. It’s a native thing, not for other people to use. Okay? Okay.
Mentally ill people are not the problem. Inaccessible, unaffordable health care is the problem. Stigma is the problem. Lack of treatment is a problem. Lack of understanding is the problem. Lack of compassion is the problem. Not taking people seriously is the problem. Lack of honest conversation and open dialogue is a problem. Using jails as a housing facility for mentally ill persons is a problem.
Do you understand me?
Mentally ill people are not the problem.
they are no easy answers to racism or racialized sexism
there are no cut-and-dry solutions for surviving the white heteropatriarchy
there isn’t an easy way to be an intersectional feminist
resistance doesn’t come with a user’s guide
it’s supposed to be difficult
it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable
it’s supposed to shatter your perceptions
if you’re not uneasy you are part of the problem
Denver-based photographer and art director Suzanne Heintz was fed up with people asking her when she was going to get married. From her mother’s direct plea, “Just pick somebody!” to others’ woeful sighs of pity, Heintz lived half her life wondering where she had gone wrong. After years of struggling to politely answer the question, she decided to procure the house, husband, and offspring everyone so desperately felt was the pathway to happiness. Purchasing a pair of second-hand mannequins, Heintz set about playing house to achieve the American Dream. From a Parisian holiday to Christmas cards of wildly escalating happiness, Life Once Removedis a sharp, witty critique on the archaic expectations of domestic bliss and fulfillment.

Violence Against Women Act: Tribes have new authority over non-natives
Three Native American tribes in the West soon will have the power to prosecute non-natives for a limited set of crimes, becoming the first group of native communities to get such authority since a 1978 US Supreme Court ruling forbade it.
A good start.
Where can we read more about this?

I hate feminists that make blanket statements about how awful all men are and who try to put down and belittle men.
You’re a misandrist, which is no better than being a misogynist, and you are not helping the case of any woman who wants to be treated with as much respect as any man. And you’re certainly not changing the minds of people who have the power to fight institutionalized discrimination.
